The information sharing and technology transfer event will take place at Merani village near Kupiano at the newly established Abau community-based resource centre.
The theme for this year’s field day is “Achieving food security and prosperity through improved technology and information sharing”.
Farmers will have the opportunity to see and learn from NARI scientists.
Demonstrations at the centre will include improved crop varieties such as early maturing and drought tolerant sweet potatoes, hybrid taros, drought tolerant cassava varieties and African yams.
Other farming methods to be shown include crop propagation techniques, pest and disease control practices, farm management, water harvesting technique using the rope and washer pump technology, small livestock development (ducks) and dissemination of information through publication displays.
