Naru opens 13th nurses symposium

MOROBE Governor Kelly Naru yesterday opened the 13th Nurses Research Symposium that will run for a week.
The convention is hosted by the Morobe branch of the Papua New Guinea Nurses Association.
At least 500 nurses from all provinces have gathered for the convention to share ideas and knowledge.
The theme of the 13th symposium is Nurses: A force for change, improving and strengthening health systems, Resilience through Public-Private Partnership.
Naru, on behalf of the people of the city and the province, welcomed the participants.
“Welcome to rainy Lae, cement city and asa sumba country.”
The Morobe governor told the participants that the theme of the symposium was timely.
He said it was an appropriate theme pertaining to the current situations and circumstances facing the people.
He said without a doubt the theme would help the nurses appreciate the essence of delivering the health services.
Naru said health was one of the sectors in the government’s priorities in stipulated in the Alotau Accord.
