Nasfund members can apply for new look ID card for free

NATIONAL Superannuation Fund (nasfund) contributors who are yet to receive their new look membership identification (ID) cards, can now apply for one for free, according to the fund.
The fund announced yesterday that the previous fee of K10 for the production of a new membership ID card has been removed.
In addition, a request to exchange an old nasfund card for a new-look nasfund membership ID will also be free of charge.
A K10 fee will however be applied to requests for lost or destroyed replacement membership ID cards.
Chief executive officer Ian Tarutia said it was important that all members had a nasfund membership ID card that confirmed them as active contributors to the fund.
“More importantly, as a value add, the membership ID card gives members the opportunity for discounts ranging between 10 per cent and 50 per cent at over 100 listed member discount service providers located throughout the country,” he said.
Meanwhile, nasfund recently hosted its 2021 Finance Conference as part of its mission to improve processes to better serve members.
Tarutia said during the conference that it was important to utilise the current and emerging technologies to enhance services to members.
“Over the last decade, the fund has moved away from the traditional paper-based record keeping, to an ever-increasing cloud-based record keeping practice.
