Nasfund opens Maprik branch

THE National Superannuation Fund (Nasfund) now has a presence in Maprik, East Sepik, following the opening of its Maprik Service Centre last week.
Chairman Charles Vee said the addition to the Nasfund branch network would allow more people to have access to superannuation, savings and loan services.
The center complements the fund’s branch in Wewak.
“This is also the first major milestone for the Fund, after signing a MoU in December 2020 with the East Sepik provincial government for a closer working relationship in providing financial literacy through superannuation, as well as cooperation in investment opportunities in this part of the country,” Vee said.
“In recent years, Maprik has grown to become the major economic hub of East Sepik.
“This development has been built on the back of agriculture, more particularly the production, and trade of vanilla, cocoa, and copra.”
He said the center would “promote a savings culture through superannuation so that our people can also save some of their earnings for later on in life”.
“Our voluntary contribution product, Eda Supa, will be at the forefront of our efforts to ensure that our people develop a superannuation savings culture, as it is specifically designed for those in industries such as agriculture, and the SME sector.
“This is part of our efforts to ensure our people are ready for tomorrow.”

  • Well done Chiefs! Its good to see nasfund being the leader in Superannuation and promoting savings culture among Papua New Guineans through our the nation. Another value added to the people of Maprik is to have ncsl (nasfund contributors Savings & loan society) has their short term financial institute providing loans at an affordable monthly loan interest rate of 1%. People of East Sepik should thank their provincial government and nasfund to come up with this MoU to support agriculture and peoples welfare. Look after this services and it will look after you in the long run. The slogan “Ready for Tomorrow” has bigger meaning to itself. Thank you all parties involve in making this happen.
