The National Capital District Amateur Basketball Association (NCDABA) has praised representative players for helping run the competition at the Hohola Courts.
NCDABA games coordinator Silas Nicky said it was good to see national players Betty Angula, Mary Elavo Saddler, Marca Muri, Emily Koivi, Moses Lune, Obert Muri and Gabriel Elavo taking time off to help run the competition by coaching junior players or refereeing the games.
“It’s not like before where only a few national players go back to their associations or communities to share their knowledge and skills,” Nicky said.
“We are privileged to have these players every weekend at the courts.”
Meanwhile, Nicky — a 12-time premiership winner with the Mt Hagen Souths Basketball Club — has urged all the teams to settle their affiliation and player registration fees before the end of this month.
“We will not hesitate to forfeit games for clubs that do not pay up,” Nicky said.
