Nature Park boss recognised internationally for her work

Port Moresby Nature Park general manager Michelle McGeorge has received an international Hall of Fame award from Zoos Victoria in recognition of her work and the positive achievements by the park.
Zoos Victoria’s Hall of Fame event is a celebration of contributions made by individuals and organisations towards Zoos Victoria’s fight to prevent or save wildlife extinction.
McGeorge was awarded the Partnership Award for her passion and dedication towards community engagement and education, outstanding animal welfare and her commitment to sharing skills to raise the standards of zoos globally.
She expressed her gratitude for the “sister-zoo” partnership between Port Moresby Nature Park and Zoos Victoria.
She said: “The sister-zoo partnership is critical to ensuring that the efforts of global conservation reaches PNG.
“The commitment, dedication and enthusiasm shown by Zoos Victoria has been amazing and has inspired and empowered Nature Park staff to strive and achieve targets well beyond anything that they ever imagined possible.”
