THE Port Moresby Nature Park school holiday programme ends today but more have been lined up for the year, says general manager David Thompson.
He said they conducted an education programme this week as children prepare to return to school.
“We’ve done education about plants and animals conservations in line with the school curriculum to bring their minds back to school,” he said.
Thompson said they were targeting more than 24,000 children to engage in the programme to improve early learning and keep them busy during the holiday.
“It is a great opportunity as a new general manager to share my knowledge and experience to bring up what has been started already,” he said.
He said it was a bit challenging with the Covid-19 pandemic around but there should be some other way of doing things.
Thompson said last year’s programme for kids between six and 12 was handed to them yesterday.
“In the next couple of months, I will continue to do the work that needs to be done and continue to teach myself and grow the opportunity here,” he said.
