PORT Moresby Nature Park’s education department is planning a bigger and better school excursion programme in 2016 to assist teachers with their lessons in class.

The education team has been busy visiting both primary and secondary schools in Port Moresby to inform them of the Nature Park’s 2016 education events.

The programmes are offered to each grade. Education supervisor Amos Babaga said by developing a 2016 events calendar, they were able to promote the Park’s educational programmes.

“Special events and school holiday programmes will help give every child a chance to visit the Nature Park,” Babaga said.

He said there were excursion programmes that were one-of-a-kind run by qualified teachers employed by the Park.

“This year’s calendar includes new public day events on top of their popular World Wildlife Day (Saturday, March 5) and World Environment Day (Saturday, June 4).

Holiday programmes will also be operating at the Nature Park with ‘Kids for Conservation Programme’ operating throughout school holidays,” he said.

Schools interested in participating in the excursion programmes or who had not received a Nature Park 2016 schools’ calendar were encouraged to contact the Nature Park on telephone number 326 0258.
