MORE than 40 district and local level government (LLG) managers and officials in Nawaeb, Morobe, attended a district development planning workshop last week at Boana station.
The workshop was a follow up to trainings organised by AusAid and the Nawaeb district administration in May targeting district and LLG officers.
District administrator David Ketenga said the information communication and technology was to educate officers on service delivery, data collection and information sharing.
The training cost K180,000 under a partnership arrangement between AusAid and the Nawaeb District Development Authority.
The PNG Governance Facility (PGF) is a partnership programme between PNG and Australian focusing on decentralising programmes to reach people in rural areas.
Adviser to Nawaeb, Jimmy Morona, said the projects were Australian-funded in partnership with the Government and are piloted in six districts.
PGF programme manager Peter Andama said the training was conducted at the request of Nawaeb MP Kennedy Wenge.
Andama said the workshop targeted all the sectors of development in Nawaeb district and established what that was achieved over the past five years, the challenges and what was still to be achieved.
