THE National Capital District health service needs a provincial health authority to help in the setting up of urban clinics, health adviser Dr Gary Ou’u says.

Ou’u said the authority would have all facilities and services in the 10 urban clinics upgraded and functioning effectively.

Gerehu clinic was declared a district hospital last year.

“All health services in the city will be running under one system and will receive funding to upgrade facilities, provide medical equipment and implement programmes and activities,” he said.

He was speaking during the dedication service of five new vehicles given to the NCD health service last Wednesday.

He said the health service should be expanded to meet the increasing population in the city.
