NCD now ‘cleaner and greener’

 PORT Moresby is now much cleaner, greener and safer because of the  betel nuts ban,  a National Capital District official says.

Terence Moka, the executive officer for NCD Governor Powes Parkop, said the city was part of the international community and the living standard must keep up with the rest of the world.

“I have received many reports and comments from the general public on how the ban had positively influenced their livelihood and beautified the city,” Moka said.

“It is very positive and I must thank the public for your co-operation and understanding and ask you to continue your positive attitude.”

He said during the opening of a Supa V Stoa retail outlet that NCDC wanted to support residents planning to start businesses in the small to medium enterprises sector.

He said people should seek funding from the governor’s office as NCDC had plans to roll out 500 more Supa V Stoas in the city. The first Supa V Stoa was opened at Gerehu Stage 3B.
