THE National Capital District Public Servants Association has named a strong squad to take part in the Southern leg of Besta FA Cup qualifiers in Alotau, Milne Bay.

The men’s squad includes some National Soccer League-caliber players in Koriak Upaiga (pictured), Ian Yanum, Roland Conn and Eric Komeng. 

The full team is Enoch Maliwolo, Paul Wiva, David Rawali (goalkeeper), Tasola Niebo, Roger Karava, Daniel Joe, Upaiga, Sam Kanuyosi, Sana Yatu (defender), Toby Sam, Exron David, Brian Tuhiana, Brett Seriba, Conn, Willie Gia, Kolu Kepo, Tonga Esira, Bulla Boyama (midfielders), Yanum, Devin Kila, RaynardYohang, Philadelphia Vela,  Karo Iga, (Strikers), Calvin Bill, Komeng, (flankers) 

The men’s coach is Paul Isorua.

The women’s team is Daisy Isacc, Monica Kaia (goalkeeper), Stephanie Sariri, Macdalene Flinder, Lynette Bito, Anna Kiele, Angela Mark, Maggie Ligitino, Betty Rifu,  (defenders) Felicity Kaluwin, Maggie Weva, Wendy Paraya, Zemiahma Emmanuel, Mepha Parom, Lynette Somom, Edith Sabaewa, Delvina Yakuc, Roselina Constantino (midfielders) Rebecca Robert, Arnie Kareva (wingers), Marie Kaipu, Bella Sialis, Rayleen Bauelua (strikers) 

The women’s coach is Eric Komeng.

The Southern region Besta FA Cup will be held from October 25-27. 

Expected teams taking part in the event include NCDPSSA, Port Moresby Soccer Association, Higaturu Soccer Association, Oro Soccer Association, Kiunga Soccer Association and host Alotau Soccer Association. 

The Besta Cup format for this year will see the men’s competition divided into two pools – three in each with the top two proceeding to the finals.

Pool 1: Momase 1, New Guinea Islands and Southern 1. Pool 2: Highlands, Southern 2 and Momase 2.
