NCDC taking inmates out of jail into school

Education

ABOUT 50 inmates will be able to do various courses at the Asia-Pacific Institute of Applied Social, Economic and Technical Studies (Apiasasets) through a sponsor.
The National Capital District Commission would support the inmates pay their fees.
Bomana jail commander Kiddy Keko said the first three courses confirmed for the inmates were electrical engineering, certificate in carpentry and diploma in refrigeration and air-conditioning.
A few more courses would be confirmed after the officials visited the prison and dew up their programmes.
Keko said the inmates would start classes when the other students were on holiday so that school would have proper schedules for training to start. A few juveniles have also been selected for training.
