AN interim committee has been set up to administer the affairs of NCD Public Servants Soccer Association competition until the proper annual general meeting elects the new officials for the association.
The committee, headed by Vonnie Kapi Natto, was appointed prior to the Southern leg of the Besta FA Cup qualifiers.
The interim committee hosted the three-team Southern region tournament at the weekend in Port Moresby.
NCDPSSA was virtually run by president Simon Koima for the past two seasons until PRK Wantok joined the competition bringing with them assistance such as sounding system, financial assistance for awards and other accessories.
Kapi Natto said her main aim was to encourage communities to participate in developing football and involve school children and youth joining the Hekari school of excellence.
The school of excellence is a football project initiated by Hekari United FC, which is geared toward developing talented footballers from a young age and providing a pathway for them into clubs in the National Soccer League.
She added that Wantoks would not return to the Port Moresby Soccer Association but instead concentrate on improving public servants soccer.
Koima will now concentrate on his role as committee member of PNGFA executive while the interim committee focuses on developing the PSSA competition and improving the standard of Port Moresby’s second largest football competition.
