NCSL aims to go ‘paperless’

Business

In line with Nasfund Contributors’ Savings and Loans Society’s (NCSL) vision to become a bank by 2020, one of its goals is to operate in a paperless environment.
The society said in a statement that with significant investment in technology to improve its service delivery to members, it had seen significant reduction in paper applications since introduction of the core banking system SaveLoanSmart (SLS) in 2016.
General manager Vari Lahui attributed the reduction in paper usage to improved electronic services now available with basic functions providing ease of access by members to initiate applications.
As part of communicating NCSL’s activities and results, the management team has a monthly radio appearance to inform and update members. While on FM100 early last month, Lahui told listeners that NCSL was promoting a paperless environment and was encouraging all its members to utilise the electronic channels of service delivery.
He said NCSL’s electronic services had improved over time and resulted in greater consistency in service delivery to members.
Lahui said paper applications took more time to process compared to electronic transactions and encouraged all members to use the electronic channels.

  • As a contributing member to NCSL, i salute GM, Vari Lahui and his Team for taking a step forward in this new age of technology in terms of customer services to operate in a paperless environment. You have done exceptionally well and your services are superb compared to other banking services around the city. Should you become a bank, i won’t be surprised if every employee starts diverting their salaries into this very paperless tech. I ‘am thankful for this service and very happy to be a part of NCSL, because i will longer be queuing up and waiting in line to served. Being a Lae based member, i would also like to comment on one of your hard working staff in Lae (Livia). She is quick and very efficient and handles her customers well. She has a very good approach and keeps her clients at ease, when the going gets tough. Keep it up Livia.
