THE Centre for Excellence in Financial Inclusion (Cefi) will provide a train-the-trainers programme for staff members of the Nasfund Contributors Savings and Loan Society.
The aim is to empower them to conduct financial literacy awareness to society members.
The society in a statement said financial information was vital to making informed decisions.
And as a financial institution, it tries to provide training and awareness to allow people to make good financial decisions.
Under a memorandum of understanding signed on Monday for the financial literacy training, the programme will train officers on how to deliver financial literacy information to its members.
It will empower them to make appropriate financial decisions, including accessing the right types of financial products and services that address their business and household needs at a reasonable costs.
Society’s chief executive officer Vari Lahui said “through our lending, we have noticed our members entering into numerous borrowing arrangements with other financial institutions at exorbitant costs”.
