PROVINCIAL governments, local members, district management and LLGs must cooperate to bring about development in local communities and wards at the village level.
Chairman of Eguma SML, a landowne rbusiness group of the former Misima mine, Taulea Mosebi said
this while thanking Samarai-Murua MP Gordon Wesley for recently facilitating a number of development projects on the island.
“Thank you for your intervention in the dispute between the island’s landowners and the communication company Digicel.
“The situation has now been resolved and the tower has been re-erected.
“The company can now provide communication services to the island,” Mosebi said.
He also acknowledged Wesley for providing funds for major maintenance of the Misima Island roads.
“This is a major maintenance programme since the closure of the mine and the departure
of Misima Mines Ltd,” he said.
“Wesley has brought in bulldozers and other plant equipment to carry out this work.
“And the MP will work closely with the governor to ensure good planning takes place at the ward and district levels.
“Villagers must be involved in this planning process.”
