Nene must fulfil K400,000 funding

Letters, Normal

SOHE MP Anthony Nene has made a lot of promises and one of them was a K400,000 funding from the DSIP for planting cocoa in the electorate.
As a result of his promises, the people of Kokoda have gone into massive planting of cocoa without the MP’s support.
They also established a commercial cocoa nursery in Kokoda and the arrival of a local cocoa export company in Oro has given the farmers some hope.
They can now expect good services and prices for their produce.
Now that the people have started the ball rolling, can the MP come good with his promises?
While the farmers are waiting for the cocoa plants to mature and bear fruits, they need funds to be involved in other economic activities to sustain their living.
The people have no intention of waiting for handouts but they have used their limited funds to get the cocoa project going.
They anticipate good returns from this project but that will come in a few years.
In the meantime, it would be good for the MP to fulfil his promise and help his people.
