Nepotism hinders development

Letters

NEPOTISM is a hindrance to development.
I am a student of Goroka Technical Business College in Eastern Highlands and I should say that students from the coastal areas are mistreated by the college’s administration staff.
One time I went into the administration office and asked the two secretaries for a confirmation letter for seeking school fee assistance but was told that they were very busy and would not attend to my query.
When I came out, a classmate of mine from the Highlands went in with the same query and was assisted instantly.
Such systematic biasness and nepotism is not good for the country’s development.
The secretaries need up-skilling to come out of their way-back thinking.
We have to stop thinking about serving our own kind and playing favouritism.
Our country has to move forward and not in any other directions.

  • This kind of sick and corrupt minded people must be removed from every organization in this country.

They are not fit and proper people for the positions they occupy if they are there to serve only their own kind.
All must carry out our duties without bias, fear or favor.
I would not like my child to go through this kind of disheartening experience.

I am very upset for this particular child because I do the same type of work, but I do my utmost best to be very fair on everyone I serve.

If we want to propel our country forward, we have to love, serve, and treat everyone as Papua New Guineans.

In my Hela society, if I take a friend from another province to my home, he is always my first priority.

  • Report this to the school administration, and those two secretaries will get their share for not doing their job effectively. I see this is an administrative issue, rather than a regional bais unless they were the ones awarding scholarships.

  • Really Nepotism has cripple Merit,Unqualified and incompetent people have degraded every organisation. As a result of that, after 45 years of Independence the country hasn’t progress, its on the verge of collapsing.
