TWO bench officials are currently in Rarotonga, Cook Islands, officiating at the Pacific Netball Series as part of the Papua New Guinea Netball Federation’s preparations for the 2015 Pacific Games.

The two officials are former netball international Gewa Raula and Kila Rawali, who have undergone in-country training under PNG Netball’s head trainers Toka Kini and Naomi Leka.

The series which began on Monday this week ends on Saturday.

PNG Netball president Julienne Leka-Maliaki said sending the two officials to Rarotonga was part of the federation’s development programme to have its officials ready to officiate at next year’s games.

The two women will be assessed and accredited by Oceania Netball Federation assessors.

Leka-Maliaki said this was the beginning of a six-month training programme to have six officials accredited with Oceania Level Accreditation which qualifies them to officiate at any INF sanctioned tournament.
