Netball PNG says 15 associations expected for national titles

The National Netball Titles are scheduled for Sept 18-23 at the Sir Ignatius Kilage Stadium in Lae, with 15 associations expected to compete in the tournament.
According to a statement from Netball Papua New Guinea, the associations will field teams in the U13, U15, U17, U21, A-grade, B-grade and masters divisions.
Associations confirmed to field teams include Port Moresby, Motu-Koita West, Kairuku-Hiri, Rigo, Madang, Goroka, Alotau, Gulf and hosts Lae. Associations yet to confirm their participation include Kavieng, East New Britain, West New Britain, Abau, Motu-Koita South and Markham.
Netball PNG said in a statement that Port Moresby, Motu-Koita West, Rigo and the hosts were expected to field strong teams.
A key feature of the championships will be the selection of U21 and open training squads for Netball PNG’s international commitments over the next three years.
The statement said the week-long event will include the five-day tournament, a leadership and governance workshop, an umpiring and coaching training workshop, and the annual general meeting scheduled for Sept 21.
