PRIVATE Companies Netball Competition (PCNC) president Julie Mai has praised participating teams for improving their skills to lift their game this season.
She said that during the preliminary finals at the Rita Flynn Indoor Complex in Port Moresby on Sunday.
“We have seen a lot of improvement from players who started off playing sloppy,” Mai said.
“This is an avenue for women and girls to build networks among each other in the workforce while remaining fit and healthy.
“PCNC has become more competitive because there a lot of teams who don’t just want to be in the competition just to make up the numbers.” She said there were 103 teams across 17 divisions.
“So it has been really hectic for us in running the competition. We always strive to make sure teams play the rules every weekend,” Mai said.
“This season has been going on for the last three months.
“In December, we had a break and resumed in January.
“The organisers have done well to ensure that the games are smoothly run.
“The hardworking umpires have also been doing a great job in controlling matches all season.”
Mai said the grand finals for each division are scheduled for March 1.
