New 45-seater bus for DWU

Momase, Normal

MOVE over National Capital District, Madang too has taken delivery of a big bus to ease transport woes. Well, not quite.
It is the Divine Word University that acquired one of these big people movers to meet growing transport demand at the campus.
The university received the second hand 45-seater from Japan recently.
The fully air-conditioned unit was blessed by the campus chaplain, Fr Edward Meli, yesterday in front of vice-president administration, Br Andrew Simpson, and other executives and staff, thus commissioning it to work.
Br Simpson said the big bus’ first assignment will be to the Madang Airport today to pick up students arriving for studies that start next week.
The 45-seater replaces the familiar blue Mitsubishi Rosa 25-seater that generations of students had gotten used to along with its ever-reliable driver, Br Hugo Andrey.
Both the Mitsubishi bus and Br Hugo are out of the Madang campus scene, with the good Dutch missionary on sick leave until April while his six-wheeled companion makes it way to the St Benedict’s Campus in Wewak to continue its service.
