THE National Airports Corporation and Pacific Energy Aviation Ltd (PEAL) yesterday signed a lease agreement for the new airport city development project.
It is the first agreement under the airport’s master development plan and increases land leases and other businesses associated with the plan.
Joseph Kintau, chief executive officer of the corporation said they were pleased with the PEAL’s comprehensive planning, storage, protection and safety practices.
Kintau said PEAL should provide competition and safety measures in the event of a fuel contamination.
PEAL general manager Henry Elias said they were determined to grow with the corporation.
Valued at K19 million, the project will include the development of the Jackson Airport’s northwest runway.
The corporation’s airport city development concept will integrate the aviation and commercial precinct into a vibrant gateway business and logistics hub.
