THIRTY members of the Lealea United church in Central were formally baptised last Sunday.
Reverend Jackson Boto said the baptism was a religious event to induct young people and “lost souls” into the church.
“As pastors, it is our duty to help lost souls find peace and comfort in the Lord through the church” he said.
“The immersion baptism is a process that the United Church follows to confirm members in the church.
“And to also allow them to be involved in church leadership roles.”
The 30 included young church members and newly married couples.
“My role as a pastor is to follow God’s calling to spiritually develop young people in the ministries including children stage by stage, teaching them the Bible,” he said.
The baptism followed 13 weeks of a religious education.
The sessions were conducted every Tuesday at the church.
It consisted of six indepth courses based on the Bible.
This was to prepare the members to be good servants and leaders.
