NEW Bougainville Party (NBP) president Linus Sahoto announced the revival of his party in preparation for this year ABG general election in March.
Mr Sahoto told a gathering at Kuri Village Resort in Buka yesterday that his party had been reorganised following leadership confusion and political setbacks caused by members in the ABG regime.
He also announced that NBP would be led by PNG Ambassador to China John Momis, who will be contesting the presidency seat in the coming election.
“NBP will also be contesting all other seats in Bougainville,” he said.
“NBP under the leadership of John Momis, if elected to power, will pursue Bougainville’s development and bring about changes to the current stagnation,” Mr Sahoto said.
He stressed that NBP would be a government of unity to bring about permanent peace and development for the people.
“Bougainville must move forward and be counted amongst the developed regions of the Pacific.
“We have no reason to remain divided and under developed.
“We have the capacity and resources to develop Bougainville the way we want,” he said.
