New ENB building firm offers jobs for locals

THE launch of the East New Britain Building and Construction Ltd will provide job opportunities for locals, chief executive officer William Lamur said.
Launched last Friday at Kokopo, the new business entity is a subsidiary of the provincial government’s business arm – East New Britain Development Corporation (ENBDC) – of which Lamur is chairman.
ENBDC general manager agribusiness, Roland Kerina said the business was formerly known as Dawapia Construction Ltd, which was voluntarily liquidated.
Some K300,000 would be used as capital.
The company has experience in building and construction and has strong financial backing, resulting from restructure supported by shares.
As Dawapia, the company has completed projects for PNG Motors, New Guinea Islands Produce, PNG Power, Butuwin health centre, Cocoa Board, Andersons Foodland, PNGCCI, Vudal University, Utmei High School, Gelagela Primary School, Pomio- Guma High School and other residential buildings
Kerina said the new business would offer construction
projects, design and build, maintenance projects, industrial and electrical engineering services, industrial plumbing, architectural drawing and designs, project management.
