New firm to sell quality used car tyres

 LOCAL company ESLTyres is expected to meet the growing demand for quality and affordable used car tyres in the country.

According to PNG Customs, there is an increasing number of people purchasing cars online from overseas and importing them to the country.

ESL owner Ralph Michael said the market for used tyres in PNG was big given the poor road infrastructures and the number of vehicles imported annually.

He said the increase in used cars entering the country provided a market favorable to ESL and other car repair companies.

“There are many foreign owned companies who sell used tyres, however vehicle owners have to be warned to ensure the tyre threads are intact for safety reasons,” he said.

ESL imports from the Middle East and sell top brand tyres with sizes ranging from 13 to 17.

Michael said the company would expand its activities by introducing car products, accessories and maintenance free batteries.
