THE Kundiawa Commuity Health Worker Training School in Chimbu held its third graduation on Friday for 19 community health workers.
The graduands were told that they could succeed if they followed godly principles.
“Aim as high as the highest Mt Wilhelm stands, and there is no secret to it, its through commitment, only then people will realise that you are a product of Chimbu,” Principal Mark Kumul said.
“In Chimbu, we set standards and we meet standards. That’s what this CHW school has trained you to become.
“With or without resources, Kundiawa CHW Training School at Mosquito compound will still produce quality and competent health workers for Chimbu and the country, and we are committed to achieve the goals we set.
“There is no room for corruption and bribery here. We do not entertain back-door deals. We select students based on merit.”
Lutheran Church pastor Helen Poi quoted from Colossians 3:23: “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men.”
She said: “You will prosper if you put God first. You will deal with lives so seek God’s guidance all the time.
“Do not associate yourself with betel nut, cigarettes and beer.
“Nursing is a noble profession that requires discipline. You are the light of the world that Jesus himself teaches us to be.”
He said Kundiawa CHW Training School is six years old and has graduated 53 health workers since its first graduation in 2016.
