NEW Ireland will open the Government Haus in Namatanai and the Government official residence in Kavieng this month, Governor Sir Julius Chan says.
“Construction is complete with the finishing touches and furnishings now underway,” he said.
Sir Julius said Prime Minister Peter O’Neill had been invited to the opening.
“The two buildings now give confidence to New Ireland to welcome any important and high-profile world leaders to visit and have the quality and standard of accommodation appropriate for their status,” he said.
“I am satisfied that what we have invested in the buildings will be offset in the quality of goodwill and bilateral relationship that we would build with our important international partners, heads of foreign missions, ambassadors and high commissioners.”
Sir Julius urged the people to help beautify Namatanai and Kavieng and the Boluminski Highway for the opening of these buildings.
