New laptops enable teachers to do research online

TEACHERS from Butuka Academy will now be able to do research online after receiving laptops from PNG Namba Wan Trophy Ltd (NWTL).
Principal Jean Ifuda said it was a privilege to have such a donation, especially during the Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic when teachers were unable to go out and use other resources.
She said this would help improve teachers’ knowledge in doing research online and would, in turn, boost their ability to bring about quality content for the students.
The teachers received laptops worth K21,000 from Fone Haus, a NTWL subsidiary.
NTWL group managing director Jim Gui said education was a priority for their company.
He said they were pleased to make the donation under their community service programme to improve the quality of education at the academy .
He said this was the first time they helped the school and he looked forward to working with the academy.
Gui said the company has been around for almost 20 years with 50 retail shops around the country, and was committed to doing their part in developing PNG through education and religion.
Butuka Academy chairperson Lady Ni Cragnolini encouraged the teachers to learn as much as they could to improve themselves in order to better serve the children by providing quality education.
She said Butuka Academy was known for its state-of-the-art facilities but she also wanted it to be known for its academic achievements.
