New law is govt’s greatest mistake

THE passing of the Judicial Conduct Act in parliament within 48 hours upon its introduction by the eight-month-old O’Neill-Namah regime is in itself, history in the making.
I believe it will also mark the end of the short-lived, loud-mouthed government as more and more citizens as well as NGOs, trade unions, churches, business councils and other important stakeholders join hands with university students nationwide to protest against the new law.
The election is approaching and the government has made the greatest mistake of all by bulldozing through the bill using its numerical strength.
The government has given voters a solid reason to  vote it out of office.
This regime does not have the people at heart as evident in the retrospective laws it has passed within the short time.
The country has also experienced many major accidents and natural disasters with so many lives lost, such as in the APNG Dash 8 crash, Tumbi landslide and the sinking of the mv Rabaul Queen.
This government paid little attention to these tragedies  and continued to trample on the Constitution of PNG.
I call on all citizens to vote against every member of this regime, who seemed to have lost their way and are beginning to lose the people’ trust.
May God bless PNG with a new people’s government.
