MORE than 5,000 customers have visited Westpac’s new-look Port Moresby branch and performed over 15,000 transactions in the three-months since it opened its doors, a spokeswoman for the bank said.

Westpac’s retail banking head Adam Downie said the branch’s sleek, modern interior design and its innovative use of a customised internet banking facility was attractive for its customers.

“Not only does the branch offer a comprehensive range of banking products including transactions, savings and investment accounts, loans, corporate banking and ATM machines, it also boasts brand new internet banking kiosks,” he said.

These made banking easier for customers by giving them the opportunity to perform transactions for free, without needing to see a teller.

“The inclusion of these kiosks is already serving as a model for all Westpac’s branches in PNG and is similar to the services on offer in the bank’s branches in Australia.

“Their inclusion reflects Westpac’s desire to continually improve its service to customers and make their visits to the bank enriching as possible.

“The idea is to constantly find ways to provide a more satisfying customer experience.

“And I am sure this new look branch, with the convenience of kiosks, will continue to bring added value to all Port Moresby people,” Downie said.
