POST PNG chairman Maxwell Paiya says the company under a new management has made a complete shift to integrate its services with technology to provide an efficient customer-oriented service.
Paiya said the traditional core services of Post PNG had been down-sized and threatened by modern technology including the internet and e-commerce.
“Post PNG under the new management has made a complete shift to integrate its services with technology so as to provide an efficient customer oriented service. A complete integration policy framework is adapted to do a complete overhaul of the way we conduct business and service our clients.”
He said at the end of July, Post PNG made a payment of K500, 000 in dividends to its shareholders.
“Although not great, it is at least an indication of positive growth in a very difficult operating environment. We have the SOEs and our corporate clients coming back and we are also partnering with international logistics companies like DB Schenker in Australia, Singapore Post subsidiary logistics company ITL. We are going big on logistics which is our biggest revenue earner. We have online with E-commerce business, Post Market and Post Shop where all the big companies work with us for their logistical needs.”
