NEWLY elected Kairuku-Hiri MP, Peter Namea Isoamo says he will honour the commitments he made during the by-election.

After the return of the writ for the Kairuku-Hiri by-election at the Government House yesterday, he said: “I have made the commitments to the people and I will speed up with the time to provide their needs.”

Isoaimo said he would concentrate on bringing educational and health services and infrastructure developments such as roads to the area.

He said he would work with churches and youths to bring about social development.

Isoaimo said he was a politician of a low rank and he  wished to serve the people.

He said the betel nut ban was a concern for his people and he would try to find the best way out or take the matter to court.

National Alliance Party leader, Patrick Pruaitch, said Isoaimo would lead from the front.

“I congratulate the new member for Kairuku-Hiri, who convincingly won the by-election,” Pruaitch said.

He said Isoaimo was a substantial character and he was a leader who led the people from the front.

Pruaitch said the NA members would work closely with Isoaimo to serve the people of Kairuku-Hiri electorate.

He urged the people of the electorate to let him settle into office so he could provide the leadership they needed.

Pruaitch said the people had not seen services in their electorate for almost two years since the Kairuku-Hiri seat was disputed in the court.

“We will stand behind Isoaimo to make sure he lives up to the expectations of the people.

“We thank the people of Kairuku-Hiri.”

Pruaitch and Grand Chief Sir Michael Somare were among those who witnessed the return of writs.
