A RANGE of products by one of Asia’s largest paint manufacturers and suppliers, Nippon Paint, will be distributed in PNG.
Thanks to a newly- launched subsidiary company of PNG Nambawan Trophy , South Pacific Paint Ltd, Nippon Paint has made its entry into the PNG market, currently dominated by longtime suppliers Dulux and Taubmans.
Commerce Trade and Industry Minister Charles Abel on Monday evening made a double launch of the South Pacific Paint and its flagship brand name Nippon Paint.
South Pacific Paints is the newest subsidiary of the expanding PNG Nambawan Trophy Ltd group founded more than two decades ago by Sir Frankie Gui.
Group managing director Allan Gui said at the launch that PNG Nambawan Trophy had grown since its establishment in September 1979 from a single retail outlet to 21 outlets today.
The company has also ventured into real estate and service stations.
Its other subsidiaries include Kwik Mart and Fone Haus.
South Pacific Paint is its newest subsidiary and the sole distributor of Nippon Paint products and accessories in PNG.
Eventually, the company will also be supplying Nippon Paint products to other Pacific markets.
Nippon Paint, one of the largest paint manufacturers in Asia, was founded in Japan in 1881 and today with 33 manufacturing plants it produces over one million tonnes of paint and coatings annually.
In Asia, all Nippon Paint offices are managed by the Nipsea Group.
Nippon Paint will be offering a variety of products such as interior collection, wood and metal and marine paints.
There is also “green” range of paint products such as odorless paint.
