WAPENAMANDA MP Rimbink Pato has thanked the Government and development partners for major projects underway in the district, including a rural electrification programme.
Prime Minister Peter O’Neill was in Enga last week to launch the electrification programme, the extension of the Wapenamanda airport and the opening of Tsak Road.
The United States, New Zealand, Australia and Japan are behind a national electrification project that will benefit 30,000 people in the district.
Pato said the airport, which was the gateway to Enga, would bring economic benefits to the people.
“With the help and support of the Government, we are now seeing developments in Wapenamanda,” he said.
“I still have more plans for the people who have the confidence in me to lead them.”
He said by 2030, 70 per cent of PNG would have electricity.
Pato said Wapenamanda was peaceful and the people law-abiding.
