New road giving 30,000 reason to be happy

Highlands

AROUND 30,000 people in two electorates of Western Highlands will benefit from the recently completed 32km road from Kotna to Lampramp.
The road is expected to open up opportunities for farmers and businesses in the Mul-Baiyer and Dei electorates. The K80 million road was jointly funded by the Government and the Asian Development Bank.
Road project manager Du Gang confirmed that the road was completed two months ahead of schedule.
“We experienced difficulty when the project started in 2016. We spent more time and resource on preliminary access,” he said.
“The people are happy with the newly completed road which they have been crying out for over the years,” he said.
