THE Kerevat National High School in Gazelle district, East New Britain, is to have a new look to reflect its school of excellence status.

This was revealed on Saturday when contractor Pantreid Pacific Ltd, a subsidiary of Trade Pacific, visited the site and met the school officials and sub-contractors.

General Manager of Pantreid Pacific Ltd Wilson David said the company would build the new administration block on a foundation of bricks made from the volcanic ash which devastated the province 19 years ago.

Principal Ray Alo said the block would consist of the administration office, classrooms and laboratories.

Two classrooms will be built for science and social science while 14 other classrooms are to be built later. The Mathematics and English blocks will be built later.

He said if funding and situations allow it, dormitories and staff houses would be re-arranged.

“We want to make this school a standard school in the province and in the country with the school of excellence concept,” he said.

Alo said the funding for the project came from the K10 million allocated by the Government.

David said 90% of the materials would be brought in from overseas and were expected to arrive in the province at the end of March.
