New school ready for Western villagers

Education

People of a coastal village in Western are happy that they will have a school in the village from next year, an official says.
South Fly district education appointment officer Malanga Towalo says the Sibidiri Primary School will formally start classes next year after all formalities to establish it is completed.
Towalo said the school will have a staff of three – a head teacher and two assistant teachers. The locals have built a double classroom, three teachers’ houses and toilets.
“For more than 40 years these people have lacked such a service. It is a pity that they have been left out for such a long time and I am glad that they finally will have their children getting basic education at the comfort of their home and continue onto upper levels,” Towalo said.
