STUDENTS from Ganba Westbrook (Hayfield) Technical High School in Maprik, East Sepik, now have no problem with transportation, thanks to Maprik MP John Simon.

For two years, students had difficulty getting to school on time because there was no vehicle to help transport them from where they lived.

Simon gave the school a vehicle, saying students and teachers would no longer face such problems.

He said students were very important people and deserved to get a vehicle.

“I feel so much for the students when seeing them standing on the road side waiting for a car,” he said.

Simon made these remarks during the presentation of the new truck to the school last Thursday.

The presentation was held at the Maprik district headquarters with more than 1,000 people, including students, parents and teachers, attending.

Simon said education was one of the main areas he would focus on apart from health and infrastructure.
