THE Morobe Rugby Union Football had its 2013 annual general meeting last weekend and elected new executives.
The meeting took place at the SCRUM oval last Saturday and was attended by six clubs – Harlequins, Pirates, Royals, Unitech Reds, Viking Dogs and Defence – representatives of whom unanimously voted in Livingstone Koi from the Royals club as president.
The vice president’s position was taken up by the Defence club, with the secretary coming from the Harlequins club and treasurer position going to Pirates club.
The new executives replace incumbent Jeffrey Puritau (president), Avea Hiarua (vice) and Tara Mora (secretary) whose three-year terms had expired.
The former executives who had been very vocal on rugby in Morobe have called on the new executives not to play second fiddle to major centres like Port Moresby when it comes to selection of players for national duties.
Attempts to get comments from the new executives were unsuccessful.
