PNG New Vision Party founder Abraham Waiyum and his executives have congratulated Lae member-elect Loujaya Toni, describing her as “a shining light in the midst of all the deceptive and defective darkened worldliness of politics”.
The party applauded Toni’s maiden speech, in particular her emphasis on the United Nation’s Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) 2000-15 to compact the five-year Development Plans 2012-17.
They said Toni was the only elected member who had embraced the MDGs in the elections.
“Her victory is a manifestation of divine intervention when the heart is right with God, in that, chosen leaders use the power of the living word to win, while non-chosen leaders used the power of money and material things to lure votes,” a party statement said.
The party acknowledged Toni as the only female elected leader from the People’s Indigenous Party.
It pledged to work alongside her as a development partner for the well-being of Morobeans, people from other provinces as well as the international community living and working in Lae city.
