WATER supply problem affecting the students and staff of Avi Primary School in the Anglimp-South Waghi district in Western Highlands province, will now be a thing of the past.
This follows the construction of a new water well, courtesy of the Highlands Arabica
Coffee, a company based in Anglimp-South Waghi.
The school has been in need of clean water for a long time and the water well would now ease the problem in the school.
Highlands Arabica team visited the school early this year and decided to build a well for the students and teachers to give them access to drinking water.
Company representative Ralda Kuri said the company’s aim was to help the people and schools in surrounding communities.
Mr Kuri called on the students, parents and staff to look after the water well so it also serves the future generations.
The company also built a new sub health centre and new water wells for the surrounding villages.
Headmaster John Kama said this was a big support from the company.
He said students from all over the province attend the school and such project would boost their learning.
Mr Kama said helping schools and institution around the country was part of developing the nation.
