New Year baby boom in ENB

Islands, Normal

THE New Year appears to be a boom for East New Britain province which registered 27 births in four days in two main hospitals.
St Mary’s Vunapope Hospital delivered 20 babies and Nonga Base Hospital recorded seven births. In New Ireland province, Kavieng Hospital reported 12 births.
The New Year is a time for celebration, and perhaps the best time to welcome new additions to families.
However, concerns were raised that the islanders needed to plan and budget for their expanding families to cater for their daily needs amidst rising costs of goods and services.
