NEW Zealand-based Alwin Komolong will add tonic to the POMSOE offensive play when they meet second-placed Yamaros in the top-of-the-table clash in the Port Moresby Super League soccer competition on Sunday.
Komolong, Lap Embel and Charlie Lepani – all will return to POMSOE colours as their team takes on Yamaros.
Komolong is in the country for school holidays, Embel returns after missing five games, while Lepani fills in for first choice goalkeeper, Billy Ame, who is on holiday.
The trio will be helped by Samson Poesi, Rodney Mobiha, Cyril Muta and Numa Kila to ensure they stay top against the Gerehu-based team.
Coach Wayne Taylor is wary of Chuckston Aopi and Max Sengum, who will play a leading role in the bid by Yamaros to displace POMSOE from the top position on the ladder.
POMSOE and Yamaros is the only men’s Super League fixture on Sunday.
The other matches will be played tomorrow, with red-hot PS Rutz wanting to continue their winning run when they take on University.
Lanky midfielder Paul Komboi will be leading his young PS Rutz charges.
He will be helped by Ken Gule, Max Mende, Lazarus McOwen, Frank Tulem and Richard Auram in their bid to maintain their winning record.
University have the Davani brothers in Reginald and Alexander and they will be supported by Felix Bondaluk, Roland Bala, Kelly Jampu and Aryton Yagas in their bid to halt the PS Rutz’s winning streak.
The other matches will see a thrilling battle between Momase and the unknown Green machines from Murray Barracks.
This match should go down to the wire as the soldiers are aiming for a win this weekend.
Cosmos should collect an easy three competition points by beating the lowly rated YMC, while Mungkas will have a hard time against Spartans.
Mungkas will rely on midfielders Lam Vincent and Adrian Komu to dictate play.
Spartans have some of the best players but they cannot produce convincing results.
Spartans coaches Chique Posman and Brian Kumasi will have to play their cards right to win this match against Mungkas.
The unofficial competition ladder is: POMSOE 21, Yamaros 20, PS Rutz 20, Mungkas 15, University 14, Cosmos 13, Defence 11, Spartans 10, YMC 6 and Momase 5.
