IT was an evenly contested battle between National Fisheries Authority (NFA) and Works in game one of round two of the  Port Moresby Public Servants Netball competition on Saturday.

National Fisheries Authority came from behind to beat Works 25-24 in a close tussle.

Works led by goal attack Kimberly Alex who was in devastating form contributing almost half of her team’s goals however her effort was in vain as a never-say-die effort by NFA led by Daisy Ole (GA) and a committed seven was good enough to save face with a last gasp surge in the  final minute bringing them home by a goal.

Works led 12-11 in the first half, thanks to the hard working mid court combinations of Ati Rawali (WA), Vere Kila (C), Kila Kuluka (WD), Lama Lua (GD) and Kiri  Ganumu (GK) gaining the ascendency first half however a determined  effort by NFA coming from behind to win 25-24 in which Ole did extremely well to pot crucial goals for her team despite some strong defence. 

In the other games, the Ombudsman Commisson Ealges taught Telikom PNG a lesson winning 32-28 and Finance made sure NBC were not close winning 27-20 in their premier division encounter.

Four more games in round two remains before the semi-finals.
