NFA pays K50mil dividends

 THE National Fisheries Authority (NFA) has paid K50 million in dividends to the state.

NFA has also allocated K62 million for various fisheries projects in PNG.

Fisheries Minister Mao Zeming said yesterday the NFA board had approved a total of K112 million to be paid to the government.

In a brief ceremony, Zeming presented a cheque for K50 million to Prime Minister Peter O’Neill. 

Zeming said the K62 million would be allocated to the projects, which included:

l Fisheries support grants to 22 provincial governments (K32 million); 

l Moresby South/Ela Beach fish market (K10 million); 

l Project development funding to all provinces (K5 million); 

 l Manus provincial government (K5 million); 

l East New Britain provincial government for the Kurakakaul fish market (K3 million); and 

 l West New Britain provincial government for a fish market (K2 million).
