Ngavalus Brothers favoured in NIP 7s

 THE cream of New Ireland rugby talent will be gunning for the cup winner’s prize-money of K3,000 in the Dekenai Kara-Nalik Rugby Union Sevens tournament at Lugagun Beach Oval this weekend.

At this stage recent Kara-Nalik District 7s winners Ngavalus Brothers are favoured under coach Les Rezawaia Kapin, who has a talented line-up that includes the Rebon brothers Murou, Kama and Naus, skipper Maia Makis, Terence Rangamat, Mete Kaiposu and John Shalom. 

The other teams in the competition are Mangai Barbs, Fandas, Duaks, Livitua, Nolfa (Lemekot), Masalai (Fangalaua), Lakuremau Chiefs, Panamana Storms, Munawai Rookies, Madina Hawks, Fissoa, Luapul Cowboys and Konos Brothers.

Naming rights sponsor, Dekenai Construction, committed K5,000 towards the cup winner and runners-up prize le RJ Trading and Chubby Enterprises assisted as well.

The three-day challenge which starts tomorrow brings together 30 teams competing in the senior (16) and Under-20 (14) divisions.
