The National Gaming Control Board (NGCB) assisted 36 police officers of the Port Moresby Police Station who were engaged in the Christmas and New Year operation with K12,000.
The donation was converted to shopping vouchers worth K200 each and distributed to the police personnel.
Chief executive officer Imelda Agon and NCD Metropolitan Suprintendent Perou N’dranou, who inspected the monthly parade at down town Port Moresby, were impressed with the turn-up and performance. Agon said the donation was NGCB’s ongoing support to police in the city.
“It is time business houses, which operate within the vicinity of police stations, give back to the police and support them in keeping the city safe for everyone,” she said.
“NGCB flags up the law-and-justice sector as an important sector that needs collective support.
“The board, through its community benefit fund ‘give back programme’, has been providing funding assistance to Royal PNG Constabulary.”
